GAS DETECTION GAS CHROMATOGRAPH

ILI's gas chromatograph is the most important and useful tool used in the identification, evaluation and interpretation of hydrocarbons.  Hydrocarbon shows are often missed or poorly evaluated due to conventional chromatographs lack of speed. ILI ’s high speed chromatograph virtually eliminates the fear of missing bypassed pay and weakly defined zones of interest.

The gas chromatograph is configured to analyze C1 to C5 in less than 30 seconds, while competing systems typically take up to five minutes. The chromatograph samples gases such as H2S, CO2 and a variety of inert gases without additional equipment.


Injection System
The sample injection system is made up of reliable silicon components that have been tested to more than 2.5 million cycles without signs of wear, and over 15 million times without failure.


Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD)
The TCD consists of four precisely matched nickel filaments (two sample and two reference), which are deposited on a silicon chip and housed in a ceramic package. The detector's small size eliminates sample dilution and provides optimum scaling for the concentration sensitive detector.

The superior thermal conductivity characteristics of silicon provide six decades of linearity, detector warm-up time in seconds and high stability. The TCD is passivated, which protects the filament and reduces the risk of detector burnout.


Chromatograph Column
Chemically bonded fused silicon capillary columns are wound to ensure homogenous heating and uniform heat exchange for sharp peaks.
